Rule #5: Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is nonexistent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery—celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from—it’s where you take them to.
You may or may not know that I have a MAJOR crush/obsession for Dylan that has not been diluted by his latest material (A Christmas Album, seriously? (If anything his morphing into an eccentric only makes me more interested in him) as I also have a major love for John Lee Hooker sparked by the scene in Stealing Beauty where Lucy is dancing and that random woman pees on the floor. Can I just clarify it was not the peeing but the music that Lucy was dancing too that sparked my interest in the blues and specifically John Lee Hooker. Soooo anyway I was reading a book on Dylan that I got for Christmas and found out that they had played together. Which makes this the best lineup ever.
Can you imagine on NYE if you saw Leo holding up this sign and there were fireworks and if you then kissed and like Ryan and Marissa silvery confetti came down AND the kiss was slowmotion. AMAZING, I know right.
As you can probably tell I am mildly delirious and super bored as I'm in bed with a ear and throat infection which I'm really hoping doesn't stop Leo finding me at midnight tomorrow night! Doing the usual productive things like revising for my mocks, which involves watching Romeo+Juliet, (I know you don't have to tell me I'm pretty hardcore).
If like me you have a minor obsession with Leo (which you totally should) then go watch What's eating Gilbert Grape? (which happens to be one of my favourite films) because Early 90's fashion + Juliette Lewis + Leonardo Dicaprio + Johnny Depp = AWESOME.

So i worked up the courage and faced the oxford street crowds which for me is basically my idea of death ( and I'm really not being melodramatic). I was looking for the floral cords above dan found them in my size. SCORE. I physically cannot buy clothes without trying them on because I am 5"10.5 and clothes are just annoying. I mean honestly topshop tall is cut for those 5"7 and above. Anyway enough moaning. The cords are meant to be cropped but as they are a 32" and I am a 36" leg they are very cropped. Not a problem it just means more sexy ankle cleavage, ( not that my ankle's have cleavage, I hope).
Then because I am on my winter hols and rather than revise for my mocks I would be sewing and learning to knit so I popped into liberty's fabric section. As previously mentioned I have been hankering after summer and few things are more summery than liberty florals so I get a couple of offcuts. and I'm thinking of making a shirt and if there's enough using the floral on teh collars and sleeves of a white shirt to jazz it up.
Note on teh photo's
I was trying to be bloggery and the like then I saw the pictures of me in teh cords and laughed. I thought that I looked a bit like an idiot/ superhero and so beacuse I am a dork I just went with it. Don't you think Lady Liberty is such a superhero name.
Right I'm off to save some people

As you may or may not know this cutie is called Andrew Garfield and he is the new Spiderman obviously he was getting in a bit of practice for the role in these pictures. Not only is he super cute ( look at that smile but he is also an amazing actor see Boy A and The Social Network. Also for those of us who are Uk based definitely go on 4OD and watch Sugar Rush because he is adorable in it.
So regular posting kind of failed but now that I have a new laptop I'm hoping to do this properly. This is probably going to just be a place for me to post quotes and photos and stuff that I like and hope you do too and I may even eventually branch out into writing actual coherent interesting pieces, but don't hold your breath.
This is not in fact a nod to the current rise of the gap teeth model (see Abbey Lee, Lara and Ashley S.) but a homage to the fact that I have finally made peace with the fact that I am unlikely to get braces and have learnt to embrace this. The epiphany started when I was about 7 and was reading one of my mum's old books on the 60's and it had Lauren Hutton on the cover. Needless to say I was mesmerized but as I think that Lauren Huttton Love or similar is a ridiculous name for a blog I called it Gap Teeth.
