Prior to yesterday my only real awareness of Karen Walker was her eyewear, which I thought was fab. My former ignorance was blissfully amended last night and all I can say is hallelujah.

I really dig her S/S 11 show with it's clashing prints that remind me of curtains (not that my curtains are as cool as this) and parkas which I have a well documented love affair with. The print clashing was not LOUD but rather a subtle clash (?), which I think is more wearbale and more interesting. Some of the pieces looked pyjama-esque and I am definitely not complaining, considering i go to a school with no uniform I'd much rather be wearing this than a onesie. Then there were 'flatforms' (still not sold on that term) loafers. I think I've established by now that a clompy shoe always wins my seal of approval combine that with pastels which always capture my heart in spring and we are onto a winner.

Plus she had fisherman hats to top it all off. If that's not a girl after my own heart I don't know what is.

  1. Haha I love your blog! Both your blogspot and tumblr are so great.
I hadn't noticed Karen Walker's designs (apart from her eyewear) either, I love the first look you posted, if only I could find pyjama-esque clothing that looked as chic.
